Xzibit Lands Role In ‘American Violet’

West Coast rapper Xzibit will be co-starring alongside Alfre Woodard and Nicole Behaire in an upcoming drama titled American Violet.

The film revolves around a struggling single mother (played by Behaire) who is wrongfully swept up in a drug raid and refuses to take a plea deal to avoid jail time.

Her choice to fight for her innocence puts her up against a powerful district attorney and puts her freedom and children’s custody at stake.

Xzibit plays the father of Behaire's character’s children.

American Violet is based on true events that took place in a small Texas town in 2000 where a large percentage of its African-American population were rounded up in one night.

The flick opens in theatres on April 17th and its cast also includes Charles Dutton and Will Patton.
