These mothers are not going to let their daughters be used up so they take preventive measures that are drastic but it is to protect the girls from unwanted sexual advances including rape. The mothers hope that their children will have an opportunity to get educated and provide for themselves rather than become pregnant and hopeless. African women are deep, they don't let the little girls be used up.
