T.I. Advocates The Right To Have Assault Weapons. Says He Never Snitched On Anyone "Who's In Prison Right Now That Can Say T.I. Put Me Here?" [Video]

Video After The Jump

T.I. visited Hot 97 recently to promote his new album Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, but the conversation quickly turned to the issue of gun control.

"This is my problem right now and stepping in right now and the ban of anything. What that does is only the criminals are going to be allowed to have this particular item," Tip said. "Because it's criminals that right now can't have assault rifles, pistols, fully (automatics), or nothing and they got them and they know they can't have them so you think if they ban them its gonna be double illegal for me now? I'm still going to carry mine. So if the illegals have them, I think the legals must have them."

The subject of whether Tip ever snitched or not also came up. The Grand Hustle CEO denied ever snitching on anyone.

"I ain't ever been in no segregation man. I always been in gen pop all the time," Tip explained. "I turned in my paperwork. when you turn in your paperwork it's called a paperwork party. They look at it on the yard. Everybody gets to observe it and whatnot. They know exactly what to look for... your court minutes. That means every time you done walked in the courtroom. What you have said, what the judge said. Your plea agreement. That means in order for you to get this plea what it is you go to come forth with. And they got to submit this stuff. If you wanna have an online Wi-Fi paperwork party, Clifford J. Harris 59458019 is my number. Who am I gonna be able to tell on and they not say in prison right now T.I. put me here? Everybody wants to believe that because if they would have got caught in those situations that's what would have happened to them."

This country is base on dollars and cents!! Do you know what purchasing guns legally does for our economy?? If the U.S can make money off of it they will never ban guns. @ Dior how voiceing his opinion leads u to think he is not compassionate about what happen?? They asked him a question and he gave his thoughts about the situation. I agree it is a sad situation but to blame it on people that don't advocate for gun control is crazy. I'm sure he is compassionate, he got kids jut like everybody else do. Could have been his or mine or yours!!

TIP is right though. You fools think this is about the "G-code" or being a "gangsta", this issue is bigger than hiphop. The second amendment is about protecting the people from tyranny. It's one of the principles of the founding forefathers. These shooting events have been caused by anti-depressant drugs, and in some cases psychiatrists triggering these through the Manchurian candidate program, like the case of John Holmes. The reason the controlling powers that be want to take your second amendment right is so if they crash the dollar, like they have done in Greece, Spain, and everywhere else, and instate Marshal law, the people cannot rise against the powers that be, as Americans did in 1776. Once the people are disarmed, watched out. These occurrences will probably just coincidentally keep happening, one after the other, until guns are prohibited. Don't think they would do this? Google "fast and furious scandal", as all the guns shipped to Mexico for all the cartel deaths in the last year came from the ATF, and this administration already tried to exploit that to ban guns.

I don't care what he says, it's just bad timing to support the ability to carry guns after such a tragedy...T.I is a donkey for not having any compassion for others.

i could care less but according to the g-code he is always talking about and how he lives if you testify against a man, again according to the code HE lives by, that is considering snitching. all he had to say is that he didn't remember anything. so he asks who is sitting in jail i will answer with Hosea Thomas.

How is it this dude who got caught purchasing weapons and doing a commercial for 1-800-TIPS is now advocating the right to have assault weapons? Anyone who been locked up knows this guy snitched. 2 time felon and you only get 1 year? "N**** say he from the Westside Well, God damn, it must be two sides"

Yo, this is Tip we're talking about. How soon people forget? It's like what 50 says with the "What have you done for me lately" mindset people have. I don't think he's a snitch. I think people knew he was important as a positive influence to the culture and he got some leniency that way. This cat knows a lot of powerful people. Someone like Tip is more likely to get a break than the average cat in the hood. You think he's gonna break that ish down? Hell no. That would be the real snitching: Getting frustrated with this ignorant snitch rumor and name-dropping whoever influenced his ish to be lenient.
