SMS Promotions Wins Purse Bid For Fight Between IBF Featherweight Champion Billy Dib & Mauricio Munoz
A purse bid was held yesterday for the upcoming featherweight fight between IBF champion Billy Dib and Mauricio Munoz.
50 Cent's SMS Promotions put in the winning bid of $50,000 for the bout. That means Dib is entitled to $37,500 (75 percent of the winning bid) while Munoz is entitled to $12,500 (25 percent).
Dib (35-1, 21 KOs), who is promoted by SMS Promotions will put his belt on the line against Munoz (26-3, 12 KOs) sometime within the next 90 days. A date and location will be determined soon.
The winning bid was placed on 50's behalf by attorney Leon Margules, who represents 50 in his boxing business according to BoxingScene.
Munoz became that mandatory challenger for Dib after he defeated Luis Franco on October 13th via split decision.

50 has already done what was needed to seem legit in boxing first.. Got approved to promote fights.. The next step came before he even got that.. Which was getting boxers to believe in his company.. Marketing is going to be the easiest sale for 50 due to him knowing how to brand things to its highest level even if it stinks... The hardest part Fif will face from this point on is building and maintaing a respectable stable of fighters he chooses to invest in... And Billy Dib is that bench mark tester to gain that experience!!

Champion Dib and number 1 contender Mauricio Munoz could not agree terms of money and location so it went to a purse bid of promoters ,50 put in the biggest and winning bid of $50,000 so he gets promotion control over the event and his boy Dib is allowed 75% of the 50,000.
