This week the hip-hop industry took some losses and made some gains. We lost Meek Mill's Dream Chaser associate Lil' Snupe at age 18 to a dice game that went bad. James Gandolfini, the star of the Sopranos, was also gone too soon. A fan of J. Cole showed the true meaning of crazy. Then Lil Wayne illustrated what it looks like to be the total opposite of patriotic.
On the brighter side of things, Eminem and Tony Yayo dropped new music, a throwback picture of a topless Nicki Minaj surfaced, KimYe revealed the name of their baby, and Tupac got his Hollywood star.
After writing books and documentaries about being Tupac's right hand bodyguard, Frank Alexander thought the Notorious movie could've been done better. Anthony Mackie's role as Tupac wasn't as defined in the movie because it didn't have clearance. This is one of the reasons the late Alexander believed if it didn't come from the horses mouth then it ain't the truth.
Being a man who was born and raised in Chicago, it wasn't about snitchin' to him...Tupac was like his brother. At one point he thought he was going to be setup to take the fall for Tupac's death. This is a reason why he had to tell his story.
Frank talked about getting death threats, having his phone tapped, and finding God and losing fear in 1997.
In Part 2 of Alexander's interview, the former bodyguard spoke of how he became Tupac's permanent protector.
Supposedly no one wanted to work with the rapper because he was so wild when he first got out of prison. He also would lose his security on purpose sometimes, even if it meant going through a red light.
Out of 2 people, Tupac picked Frank as his main man. Frank said the legendary rapper actually listen to him on a day to day basis. It was more than a business partnership.
A message the martial arts expert left off with is that you don't always have to use your gun in an effort to protect someone.
Roscoe Dash admits that he is underrated. The rapper blames it on being placed in a box, especially since he is from the ATL.
In an attempt to cross over, Roscoe has been working on creating a new image for himself. He got rid of the Mohawk and went with the short cut. He hinted toward doing another collaboration with Kanye after mentioning how he just got back from Paris.
With his new project Roscoe Dash 2.0. soon to drop, he is really trying to push out singles. In a couple weeks Dash is dropping a new joint called "Everyday."
Being an Aries he is very outspoken, people confuse that for confrontation. Roscoe speaks on the Meek Mill dispute and having a thing for Joe Budden's ex-girlfriend Kaylin.
In Part 2 of the Natelie Nunn interview, the bad girl opens up about her big chin being like a weapon.
She was introduced to SMS Audio and wondered if 50 Cent is trying to compete with Beats by Dr. Dre.
She gave a shout out to Soulja Boy for giving her the hat she was wearing from his clothing line.
Turn Down For What, is the new book she has out. its about her life at The Bad Girls Club, dating certain folks, and being married now. Oh, and did she mess with Wiz Khalifa?
Natelie reveals she is about to host a radio show on Playboy Radio
In the next chapter of the Cuban Link interview, the rapper made time to do a freestyle. Then he called Fat Joe something like a teacher's pet.
He is sure that the more real you keep it the less you get that industry love. It is Illuminati sh1t to him because you have to sell your soul.
He said he could've sued all the labels in the club.
RA The Rugged Man kicked off the interview with a conscious free flow.
Jack said the first time he saw RA was when a video of him discussing Floyd Mayweather went viral. He said Floyd doesn't challenge himself. It resulted into an argument between the two via telephone.
He discussed his Warner Bros deal back in the day, past boxing endeavors, sexually harassing women, new album Legends Never Die, and how he started rocking with the Biggie crew before he became the Notorious.
IAMSU is currently on tour with Problems. The tour is entitled Million Dollar Afro tour. He shared the crazy stuff they do while on tour.
His new mixtape Kilt II is more about his upbringing, where he came from, and what he is trying to do.
The Boston rapper/actor Slaine kicks off the interview with a freestyle.
He lets us in on his experience getting hit by a car when playing in the movie Killing Them Softly. in addition the triple threat gave us his reaction to seeing himself on screen for the first time in Gone Baby Gone.
His music career actually kicked off his Hollywood beginnings. After being feature in a story for the Boston Herald, Ben Affleck sought him out. His new album is The Boston Project.
After his freestyle, Problem credited being with an awesome crew like Diamond Life for making him relevant.
The Separation is his forthcoming project.
The best advice he ever got was supposedly from Snoop when he told Problems to be himself and that is the way he is going to win.
The newcomer briefly mentions his collaboration with G-Unit's Kidd Kidd.
We met up with Kloud Clothing Co., a group of Haitian fellas who launched an urban fashion line. Kloud stands for Keep Living Out Ur Dreams. The moon and star on their logo came from them looking up at the stars. The company has been going strong for three years. Jack says he has over 200 shirts and claims they all look different.
The group is from Palm Beach, Florida. They didn't go to school for fashion but have a lot of skills with graphic design and photography. The designs are all a group effort.
The goal is to get the right people to wear the clothes so they can branch out more, do more events, and be the #1 brand.
