The final numbers are in and Rihanna will land her sixth top ten album in as many tries. Her Talk That Talk album sold 197,000 units it's opening week. Good enough to put her at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart according to Billboard.biz.

Drake's Take Care disc suffers a 73% drop off and falls to the No. 4 slot this week with 173,000 units sold.

Mary J. Blige's latest offering, My Life II: The Journey Continues, Act I, will place the R&B singer at No. 5 with sales of 156,000.

Rounding out the list of notable urban releases from last week is Yelawolf. His Shady Records debut, Radioactive, sold 41,000 copies placing him in the No. 27 slot.

The No. 1 album in the country will be Michael Buble's Christmas, with sales of just over 227,000.

I'm glad Yelawolf didn't break the top 20, yet. Album sales are not a litmus test for a good album. In fact, most albums that hit #1 suck...Look at this week's #1 - Michael Buble Christmas Bull$hit. Yelawolf isn't the type of artist that's going to be drop blockbuster albums as far as sales go. I'd much rather be a part of 41,000 fans than be a part of, let's say, Lil Wayne's devotees. (That's not a Wayne diss... I like Wayne, I'm just not a die-hard fan.). It's easy to jump on a bandwagon and buy what everyone else is buying. Yelawolf's music just isn't for EVERYBODY. His fans know what's up though. Yela is a beast. If my opinion doesn't make you look at Yela's album sales in a new light, consider this: Tech N9ne's incredible album "All 6s and 7s" has NEVER CHARTED ON BILLBOARD. You see? If album sales = quality music, then why didn't Tech N9ne's album chart?? Because PEOPLE ARE SHEEP. I'm happy to be a Yelawolf fan, and I like the new album even though it went in a totally different direction than I expected. And besides, this is all moot, b/c who knows what Yelawolf's album would have sold if there were no internet piracy? 41,000 copies after 1 week on a "debut" LP is pretty good in the piracy age. Plus, Yelawolf is not an established artist right now. When someone like Wayne or Em drops a new record, they already have a huge built-in fan base that are going to buy whatever they put out immediately. But Yelawolf JUST CAME OUT (on the "big" scene, that is...). He's a rookie when it comes to Billboard Charts and major labels. Yelawolf almost has a cult following at this point, and usually when a musical artist has a "cult following", they aren't selling #1 debuts on the charts.
Also, Yela's album sales, however unimportant they are to me, were clearly affected by releasing the album during Christmas shopping season. EVERYONE is putting out albums right now for Christmas gifts. Of course Yela's debut isn't going to sell as many copies as the new Rihanna album. Who cares?
So, in short, who gives a damm about Yelawolf's album sales? It's about whether you are into it or not. If I was a signed musical artist in this day and age, I would be ecstatic about 41,000 copies in my first week. Yelawolf is here to stay.

now, for all u skinny jeans, young money, rihanna and many other POP artists who claim to have anything to do with Hip-Hop, get the fu ck outta here, that fake a** blood bought his own albums, that talentless bi tch sells records because she is a s*** and so on, that's the truth , deal with it

Hip hop the only genre that places emphasis on first week numbers it's not a f****** sprint. Rihanna cds always debut around 150 ish and end up doing 2x or 3x platinum because she had hit records that stay on radio and being purchased by consumers 3 or 4 months after being released. It's called having true hit records and being able to expand your fanbase.
