Rick Ross Hires 24-Hour Armed Security Team To Watch His Back After Monday's Drive-By Shooting *UPDATE* 911 Call Added [Audio]

Rick Ross is taking every precaution to ensure his safety after a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale left him uninjured, but shaken up.

As we previously reported, the Miami rapper was targeted by an unknown gunman or gunmen as he was driving Monday morning with his girlfriend. Dozens of shots were reportedly fired at Ross' Rolls Royce as it was traveling eastbound on Las Olas.

Ross crashed the Rolls into a building trying to escape the gunfire.

TMZ is reporting that the MMG boss has now hired a team of armed security to watch his back 24 hours a day. The rapper has used a security detail in the past at various public functions, but now he's taken steps to make sure an incident like the one on Monday doesn't happen again by having bodyguards by his side at all times.

**UPDATE** 911 Call Added "I Just Heard Gunshots"

TMZ just posted a 911 call from a witness to the shooting. During the 20-second call the woman on the phone describes hearing gunshots. She then quickly gets off the phone to go hide when the car the shots came from turns around and comes back.

Dr. Dre got a big security team when Suge got out. Hip hop is immature. You don't see this in country and western....garth brooks vs Alan Jackson.

I feel really sorry for the state of hiphop right now, the fans of Rick Ross are all under 21 if you're a grown man bumpin' his wack s*** u should go kill urself. The dumbest thing I hear from a Rozay supporter is "sooo what ricky was a cop, nobody is real they're aint no real rappers everyone is fake." No, that is not true. Young kids these days are influenced to the point that they start making excuses for people even when they know they're wrong, but they can't help it when the music industry and record companies constantly shove what THEY want you to hear, young kids don't stand a chance. I came from the era of the 90's, I was a young teenager in the mid 90's and the amount of raw skill and talent back then was ridiculous, i mean we had new artist like Nas, Biggie, Jay, Mobb Deep, Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan, Big L, Fat Joe (Don Cartagena album is certified classic) and so many other artists that I can't even name but an era when it wasn't about being a drug lord, or being the biggest boss selling 100ks a summer. Those guys rapped about what they knew about, which was the streets, they really grew up in Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, etc. and there wasn't any question as to whether we were listening to was raw talent or made up studio s***. Nowadays its acceptable to be a rapper as long as u can pretend to be something ur not, and the record labels and radio stations don't even give a s***; get a hot beat and sum decent lyrics and they'll shove it down our throat no homo. Every time i c Rick Ross or hear his raps, I don't buy a second of it. Now for sum they say ohh well rap is WWE now who cares, but to the old heads like myself that understand the game and where its headed, we know Rick Ross is a sellout to his record label and the industry and whether or not someone was really trying to shoot at Ross, in the end nobody really cares because no matter what he does or says, he'll never be taken seriously....unless ur an impressionable 16 year old....just a thought.
