I don't feel like I standout I stand "In".And I say that because music and the way it is distributed always changes. From 8 Track to Vinyl from Vinyl to Tapes etcetera etcetera. As an artist I tend to adapt so it doesn't bother me.
You board an elevator. 50 Cent and two record execs are in an elevator. How do you pitch them your brand in 30 seconds?
Honestly the first thing I would do is pull out my phone and start reciting one of my best verses (All of them). Afterwards explain to them the direction I want my music to go and what I want to do for the city of Baltimore.
Collaboration with Giggs on "More Life" has brought the UK music scene to the states. What do you think each scene can learn from one another?
The UK can teach America how to keep the BoomBap essence of HipHop relevant for today's listeners as they do so well like for artist like Lady Leshurr,YEAR OF THE OX,Benny Mails the list goes on.The UK has done enough homework on HipHop but America may help with with them become more mainstream. There should be more "Tim Westwood Tv" kind of shows or "King Of The Dot" platforms in America as well as the UK.
When you tell people you're a Hip-Hop artist/rapper what is the typical response you receive?
"Give me a hot 16" It never fails. If not that it's "Everybody wants to Rap now",but in actuality I'm a artist I don't make one genre of music.I don't get offended I like proving people wrong. -The national HipHop conversation needs someone like me to represent the city of Baltimore and the underground in general.Underground music and a lot of local artist is where the real music is.The real struggle and story telling is in HipHop.So when the conversation comes up I would be the perfect representation for any HipHop conversation.
