Emmett/Furla Films and Cheetah Vision Films are running after ''
The Pursuit,'' partnering to produce the action thriller starring Curtis ''
50 Cent'' Jackson.
Project was announced Tuesday by
Randall Emmett, who co-runs
Cheetah Vision with
Jackson and is partnered with
George Furla in Emmett/Furla Films. Emmett, Furla and
Jackson are producing.
Shooting has been set to start
Feb. 15 in Louisiana. Jessy Terrero (''Soul Plane'') will direct as part of a three-picture directing deal with the producers.
''
The Pursuit'' will be distributed by
Lionsgate through
Cheetah Vision's 10-picture output deal.
Story centers on a cop and criminal inadvertently teaming up to track down an escaped bank robber as each has his own personal vendetta against the man -- while a determined US
Marshall hunts the men to prevent them from killing the convict.
Matt Johnson ('
'Into the Blue,'' ''Torque'') wrote the screenplay.
Emmett/Furla is currently in pre-production on ''
Broken City'' starring
Mark Wahlberg and
Russell Crowe and ''
Frozen Ground'' starring
John Cusack,
Nicolas Cage and Vanessa Hudgens. Both films will begin shooting this fall. The company is in post production on ''
Lay the Favorite,'' ''
Fire with Fire,''
''Freelancers'' and ''End of Watch.''
Emmett/Furla announced last month a $250 million film fund with Envision Entertainment to finance a new slate of star-driven commercial feature films.
Image Entertainment acquired rights last month to football drama
''All Things Fall Apart,'' starring
Jackson, Ray Liotta, Mario Van Peebles and Lynn Whitfield, with Van Peebles directing. ''
All Things Fall Apart,'' produced by
Jackson and Emmett, is slated for an early 2012 theatrical release.
