Peter Rosenberg Says Jay Z Is Riding Kanye West's Coattails To Stay Relevant *UPDATE* Hov G Checks Rosenberg [Video]

Video After The Jump

Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg suspects that Jay Z's reason for hanging with Kanye West has much more to to with business than friendship. This morning on "The Realness," Peter explained why he feels Hov needs Yeezy to stay relevant.

"Jay Z is hanging on to his little brother's coattails," Peter said. "What's really happening with Jay Z? Hov's hot...He aight I guess. But Kanye's ish is more john blaze. Here's my point. Kanye does a song with Coldplay. Here comes Hova doing a song with Coldplay. Kanye does a song with Daft Punk. Now what do we find? Jay Z went and did a song with Daft Punk. And may I ask you a question. Riddle me this, hip hop. What are Jay Z's best songs over the last five years? What do they have in common? Could it be Kanye West? That's right, big brother is hanging on the coattails of the little brother."

What do you think of Rosenberg's comments? Is he on the money or way off base?

**UPDATE** March 17

Jay Z heard Roseberg's comments about him and decided to set the record straight during a phone call over the weekend. Listen to Rosenberg's funny recap of the conversation below.

@The adult n the room @EphraZe @hassan know you probably don't wanna admit it, but Hov been jockin Ye and using him to stay relevant for years now. It all started with BP3. Ye produced 7 tracks off that album. Not to mention he was featured on two songs and he gave Hov the idea to do DOA. BP3 came out in 09, his next solo project didnt drop till 2013.
Now ask yourself how did Hov stay relevant from 09 to 2013 without dropping a solo project? idk maybe getting on that Power remix had a little something to do with it.Or maybe him getting on another smash hit by Ye did it, Like Monster or so appalled. Not to mention he was on other GOOD Friday songs. We all know how popular Ye was around that time and Jay was def feeding off that. Now all that took place in 2010. Now lets see what Hov did next, oh yea thats right he does a whole album with Kanye!!!
who you think produced 90% of that album? and that s*** dropped in 2011. N***** in Paris was Yeeys idea. Otis was Ye's beat. The two biggest singles on that album just so happen to be influenced by Kanye and in 2012 he was featured on one of the biggest songs of the year, which was Clique. And we not even gonna mention Hov been dressing like Ye also. Ye was rocking blazers with a bunch of gold chains some jeans and the Yeezys. Now go look up Jay-z outfit for made in America. Show less
