Nicki Minaj Deletes Her Twitter Account Following Dispute With Fan Website Over Leaked Music

The Barbz have gone mad. On Sunday (April 15), Nicki Minaj deactivated her Twitter account leaving millions of her fans and followers awaiting her comeback-- but that may not happen. After getting into a Twitter tiff with some of her followers, Nicki pulled the plug on her account. “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f*cking bye,” she wrote. before vanishing from the social networking site.

Minutes before, Nicki had vowed to get rid of the account after she blocked a fan site that she accused of posting leaked music. (part of the Complex Network) managed to capture some screen grabs.

The offending site, is also down, stripped of all of it’s content with only the word “closed” posted. Instead of their Barbie-related content, the site just plays the somber sounding “Dear Old Nicki” in a loop. The track which appeared on Minaj’s 2010 debut is rather appropriate. On it she raps to her former self: “And tell me that you coming back that you just took a break/Maybe I blamed you for everything, that was my mistake.”

Whether NickiDaily was the exact reason that the Young Money star deleted her Twitter is unclear. There are few artists who have a closer relationship with her fans than Nicki, and fewer artists who are as big as her on Twitter. Last week the Harajuku Barbie landed the #1 album in the country with her sophomore effort Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded after selling 253,000 copies in its first week.

It was a mixed bag of reactions on Twitter:

“Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f****** bye.”

“And that’s exactly why I’m paying the barbz DUST right now! And deleting my twitter. Smdh – don’t cry 4 me argentina.”

People can get real ugly on twitter.....and one guy i follow says they have deleted people off his acount without his permission, and only allow him a certain amount of tweets per day. I don't blame her for deleting if she was getting gang stalked. That is like an insidious poison dart thrown at you day after day after day.

I never understood the whole hooplah about first week sales anyway. You gotta work a quality project for at least a year. B.o.B. only sold 84k his first week and a year later he was at 584k.

Can't lie, her twitter account was entertaining to read through. Most fan sites aren't stupid enough to post leaked songs on their site. The RIAA will go after Granny, so they def coming after you.
It's a hiphop site and like it not, Nicki is part of the hip hop universe. If you don't want to read about her, don't click the f**king link. It's real easy. Since some of you aren't that bright, all you do is scroll the wheel on your mouse down and click on another post. I'm just tired of the constant b******* about Nicki.

Thisis50 Indie Artist Spotlight: Pharaoh sends out notice to the world that he has arrived and is ready to dominate the rap scene

FAYETEVILLE, N.C. – By the time Pharaoh was 9 years old, he had already developed a strong love for music. He remembers growing up in the projects with his cousin, using a scrounged-up tape recorder to record themselves as they sat around free-styling some of their favorite songs from Tupac, Nas and Jay Z. And though he admits he wasn’t that great back then, he knows he’s…See More
