Nas Defends "Django Unchained" & Quentin Tarantino's Use Of The N-Word "He's One Of The Greatest Filmmakers Of Our Generation" [Video]

Video After The Jump

Quentin Tarantino's new movie Django Unchained has stirred a lot of debate about it's use of the word "n*gger." Legendary rapper Nas has seen the film and doesn't get what the big deal is..

"A movie about slavery and you don't hear the N-word, that doesn't make any sense," Esco told MTV. "I didn't see what the big fuss was about...it's a movie. Movies by [Quentin Tarantino] why should we be surprised if the movie is raw? He's one of the greatest filmmakers of our generation. And we don't go there to see anything less than rawness. So, if it's gonna be language [or] goriness. He's an artist and artists have to express themselves. And that's just what he's doing."

Do you agree with Nas?

When I watched DJango I didn't see what the big deal or controversy was about. Black people were enslaved during that time and its a movie depicting that era. If you want to talk about inappropriate things lets discuss the use of The Rick Ross song in the score of the movie now that s*** cray, there was no rap or hip hop during slavery make something out of that!

I ain't the fact that the N word was used in Django Unchained, but the fact that its been used in several other of Quentin's movies.
