The past week was another rollercoaster ride ranging from awesome to totally bizarre. While Beyonce and Jay-Z showed of their Blue Ivy, an Baltimore inmate became the baby daddy to four female correction officers. With Rick Ross soon to lose more money in a lawsuit, Lil Wayne might also face a monetary loss if dropped from Mountain Dew due to Emmett Till lyrics.
In greener pastures Eminem was caught collaborating with certain industry figures while 50 Cent was chosen to give the introductory to the ESPN 2013 NFL Draft.
In the midst of the commotion exclusives with Wyclef, Styles P, N.O.R.E., Jazzy Jeff, Marcus Canty, and DJ Dimepiece were still conducted.
In Part 3 of the interview with Wyclef he told us his greatest beef story when he was in the Fugees. It dealt with the late ODB hijacking their Winnebago. ODB couldn't recall the situation when they reunited on "Ghetto Superstar," the song that broke singer Mya into the industry.
Speaking of the Fugees, Wyclef remembered Pras and how he wishes he had the opportunity to tell him it wasn't any harsh feeling between them. As for Lauryn Hill, he hasn't been able to get in contact with her but does wish her all the success in the world.
Check him also discuss the prior controversy between him and Haiti.
We met up with Styles P this past week for a brief exclusive on his Float album. The rapper was also comfortable enough to open up about the former beef between his boy Jadakiss and 50 Cent. According to Styles P, the way beef works in the industry is if you have a problem with one member of the crew then you have a problem with everybody. Nowadays, the beef is squashed. Calling Fif a worthy opponent, Styles P thinks they now have a mutual respect for one another.
The "I Get High" rapper also gave his opinion on what it takes to become an official rapper. He has his own criteria. In addition, he shared who he could see himself working with in the future. Watch him give his take on Jadakiss' new doo too.
N.O.R.E. aka "P.A.P.I." came through for what he coined a "classic" interview. With his new persona he has launched another album entitled Student Of The Game. Different lyrical styles that the Puerto Rican/Black rapper likes are contributed in the album.
He went into why he revamped his name and tells the funny story of how he met Bobby Brown back in the day at the Puerto Rican Day Parade. The Prerogative artist was on a drug hunt.
We heard more from DJ Jazzy Jeff last week. He spoke on some of his favorite DJs who stay well rounded.
He continued with how music selection is a key component to good djing. Whether your mixing with technology or records, if the music is not hot then it is not going to fly.
Being a former cast member of "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," the DJ divulged some behind the scenes secrets. One included what he actually fell on in every scene where he got thrown out of the Banks residence.
Catch him speak on Will Smith, the best advice he every received, and what it takes to remain number one in his line of business.
Singer Marcus Canty, a newbie in the industry, also came through for an exclusive. He has an new EP called This...is Marcus Canty that he expects to be a smash.
He expressed his thanks for being able to link up with LA Reid after his experience on X Factor. Meeting Rihanna on the show was a bonus.
However, Canty was winning way before the X Factor. At the young age of 11 he made it to second place on Amateur Night at the Apollo.
Our girl DJ Dimepiece aka "The Mixin' Vixen" entered the building repping Chi-Town. Besides doing her radio show in Chicago, Dimepiece has recently landed a spot on the MTV competition show Master Of The Mix.
Being on the show she hopes to reach a bigger audience and get her name out there. She wants to ultimately open for elite artists like Beyonce.
