Kid Cudi Covers Complex: Talks About Quitting Weed, His New Rock Band & More [Video/Pics]

Video After The Jump

Kid Cudi nabs the October/November 2011 of Complex Magazine.

The rapper/singer talks to the publication about giving up weed, loyalty and his rock band 2 Be Continuum.

"I still don't really give a f*ck about much," Kudi says. "You gotta be able to focus on the things that matter 'cause if you don't you start to get a little crazy. I know people are standoff-ish about this rock project, but we know what we're doing. We're definitely not going to let anybody down because we're sitting there hour after hour perfecting it."

I don't know man, every time an artist sobers up, their music starts getting wack......Eminem(Eminem was at his best pilled up), Lil Wayne(Wayne was at his best syruped up). I think the drugs make them put their raw emotions into the song which makes it good. Being sober they are conscious of what they are doing and then may begin to hold back for fear of letting too much out.

Personally I like when people step outside their box. I can't wait to hear it.And that one song of lil wayne's rock-album was good...needed more guitar though!
Black Roc, Why Can't I Forget Him....bad-azz song.
Jayda Smith, Wicked Wisdom...was heavy metal! I like it. Throw it all in a pot and mix it up!
The purists will always have their music to go to.

rappers and rock bands NEVER go well together. Look at Lil Wayne's crappy attempt to act like a rocker. Instead, it comes off as trite and manufactured and the whole world laughs at him for wearing girls pants. This is not a good idea. If you're not qualified for the job, don't try and do the job.
