Kendrick Lamar definitely brought awareness back to West Coast hip hop in 2012. His good kid, m.A.A.d city album lived up to the hype. Both critics and fans alike appreciated the Compton emcees Aftermath debut. The project sold 242,122 copies in its first week.
The Source magazine recognizes Kendrick's accomplishments by crowning him the king in its 3rd annual Rookie Of The Year issue.

This is absolutely appalling. K Dot still needs much work. GKMC is one of the WORST releases of 2012. The Source caught a bad one for this. SMH.
