Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy Sign Deal With Interscope Records & Aftermath Entertainment To Release Their Solo Albums

Some great news just came down the pipeline. Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has confirmed that Top Dawg Entertainment has “just closed” a joint venture deal with Interscope Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment according to Fader.
The deal means that Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q's solo albums will be jointly released through Aftermath and Top Dawg.
No word yet on if the foursome, together known as Black Hippy, will also release their group albums through the same avenue.
The report from Fader says that more news about the deal will be forthcoming from Tiffith so stay tuned.

Good for them and everything, but I'm starting to wonder why anybody would continue to sign with Interscope Records... other than Eminem, it seems like every time a musician is signed to Interscope they have a hard time getting the label to stand behind them and make it easy to release a record... (50 Cent fans won't argue, I don't think)... Think about it. The problems 50 has with the label, what happened to Cashis, even Jimmy Iovine's buddy Dr. Dre can't put out an album withing 11 years (whether it's his fault or not). Even in rock - Marilyn Manson left the label in disgust, as did Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), amongst many others. I hope I get to hear Kendrick Lamar's Interscope albums, but I'm not holding my breath either.
