Jim Jones Dedicates 'Perfect Day' To Cancer Patients, Soldiers

(AllHipHop News) Harlem, New York rapper Jim Jones recently dropped the video for his new single "Perfect Day."

The track, which features **** Santana and Logic, is taken from Jones' upcoming album, CAPO.

Jim Jones sat down with former Denver Broncos star Darrell Reid to explain the inspiration for the track "Perfect Day."

Zeus Morand and Jim Jones co-directed the video, which is set in various locations, including a hospital.

"I lost my grandmother from cancer," Jim Jones explained. "I always wanted to dedicate something to her. The video is dedicated to anyone that's affected by cancer, or have cancer or families thats been affected by cancer. And for the soldiers that don't get to come home who have been at war for so long," said Jim Jones.

The video for "Perfect Day" was shot earlier this month, over the course of two days.

According to Jim, people doubted the validity of the song's concept due to the rapper's hardcore image.

"I know a lot of people don't expect this type of music for me. When I first put it out I been getting a lot of flack, like that's not a regular Jim Jones song, like 'where's that Jim Jones sh*t at, where's that ballin' sh*t at. Then the same people that was telling me that two-three weeks ago is now like 'the song's alright, it's growing on me."

Oh that's really nice! I don't wish that on anyone. Cancer is nobody's friend. I hope I never have to go through that or with anyone I personally know. That's really sad and Chemo makes you sick and kills the good cells along with the bad one's. That's kind of a tricky situation but to all of the people who's cancer went into remission or is gone that is wonderful. Bless all of the people who are going through that now. I wish we can just wipe out all of these bad and harmful diseases and illness and all we could get was just a little cold and or touch of the flu.
