Jermaine Dupri Out, Kevin Liles Reportedly In As Mariah Carey's New Manager

Mariah Carey has parted ways with Jermaine Dupri as her manager. The two have been longtime friends and in 2013 Mariah hired the So So Def CEO to guide her career. During the time that they've known each other Dupri produced hit songs for Mariah, including "We Belong Together" and "Always Be My Baby."

Things just didn't work out once her became her manager.

The split comes following the disappointing sales of Mariah's latest album, Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. Since it's May release the project has only sold 103,000 copies.

Dupri issued a statement to Billboard confirming the split:

“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work,” Dupri said. “I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.

Kevin Liles is reportedly taking over management duties for the pop icon.

Also, she didn't release a video because she had been trying to get a hit for 2 years before JD took over as her manager. She release that Beautiful track with Miguel. It was the only one that did decent. Everything else was flopping.

JD didn't manage Mariah for 9 years. He managed her for this album cycle which was for about a year. I knew it was a bad idea when they announced it because if she flopped everybody was going to blame him. So now JD is going to catch hell for ruining Janet and Mariah careers. Mariah is done Ariana Grande took her spot. These chicks need to learn that once you cross 40, you are on borrowed time especially if you playing that sexy pop star game. Mariah need to take her a** to Vegas like Britney and Celine before her and cash out for 50 million and then retire.
