Jay-Z Tells Juan Epstein His Takeover Diss Was 100 Times Better Than Ether. Praised Prodigy "At One Point He Was Close To Being The Best Rapper In The Game" & Em Won Renegade [Audio]

Jay-Z and Nas had one of the more entertaining rap beefs of all time. The battle produced two classic diss tracks in Nas' Ether and Jay-Z's Takeover.
While most hip hop fans tip their hats to Nas when comparing the two songs, Hov seems to still be in denial.
In an interview yesterday with Cipher Sounds and Rosenberg on their Juan Epstein Show. Hov talked about the two songs, acknowledged Eminem killed him on "Renegades" and gave Prodigy props for being one of the best rapper in the game at one point.
"I think in the history [books] when we look back, and I don't mean no disrespect to Nas it's not even close," Hov said. "The record, if we take Ether it's 100 times better."
Jay also dissed producer Ron Browz by saying the Ether beat was terrible.
Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Jay have also had their differences, but Jigga gave the Queens mc praise.
"I think they're fantastic," Hov said of Mobb Deep. "Prodigy at one time was one of the best rappers in the game. I don't know about [best] ever, but at one point he was close to being the best rapper in the game."
As far as Eminem murdering him on Renegades, Hov chalked it up to a bad day at the office.
"I think he's [Eminem] a very intelligent rapper... It's just when you make 4000 songs... I'm a constant collaborator. You know some people are gonna have better days, it's just the way it is."

Guys .. first off the either beats was original not that sample crap from Kanye West so let get the facts right. After Nas drop either Jay drop a f** as song called super ugly shi*t was trash and a cheap low blow when he got murder on Either. IF your listen to the way Nas made the song he took that line "I WILL NOT LOSE' that's what jay use to say Nas took it like Jay took "dead president". Either didn't only kill Jay it killed Rocafella as a team and remember when Jay got on hot 97 he had to apologzie for disrespecting Nas baby momma cause Jay mother told him it was wrong. and like the boy C say Eminem already had the Renegade record so the Jay-Z version was a remix for him and let's all be honest if Jay-Z wasn't consider the best would care if Eminem verse was better truth is Renegade was not a battle record and Nas had no reason to bring that up unless he was jealous Eminem didn't do a track with him 1st

Shawn Carter was known as Jay(-Z) since H.S.
Jay-Z f***** Carmen, so dissing his looks (big lips, camel JJ Evans etc) sounds lame, ya babymoms didn't mind
Jay owned Roc-A-Fella, Dame Dash rarely was in his video let alone danced in them & they never donned the shiny suits
Jay-Z style was never like Nas, but Nas is accused of stealing 2Pac style by 2Pac so Nas who really is the style biter
Nas doesn't bust guns ask Prodigy
Nas admitted in his Ether Song Jay was already in the throne and like a father he watch Jay Rise to the Top (check the lyrics)
Jay-Z should of never made the BIG comparisons but face it Jay and Big had 2 Jawns together where the we're on similar levels and Jay felt at the time he was taking NY rap to the next level where Big left off and he did

But break down the facts and you see that "Ether" is a comedic diss song that if Nas dug harder he could have won and "Takeover" is a classic cause Jay aint write the whole song for Nas 7 yet he killed multiple artist careers (Nas Prodigy Mobb Deep Bravehearts Columbia fell as a label causing mad artist to lose thier deals) all this is on the net check the facts people

a'set you can try and argue your point all you want on here but scroll down and and go back some pages...it is clear nas won. and the only rapper ever to even come close to living by the art of war was pac. have you read the book? and futher more after nas's ether bomb, he is not respected as a battle rapper anymore so yea it did hurt his career.
