Jay-Z played the first of two benefit shows at Carnegie Hall Monday (February 6). Hov will perform there again tonight. Proceeds from the concerts will go towards the United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
The event marked the first time Beyonce had been seen in public since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Her husband celebrated having his wife in the building by performing "Glory" for the first time live. The song dedicated is to his baby girl. It was an emotional moment for the Brooklyn MC.
“I didn’t think I was gonna make it through, that one was tough,” he told the crowd at the end of the song.
Nas joined Jay onstage to perform "New York State Of Mind." Alicia Keys was also on hand. She and Jay performed their hit record "Empire State Of Mind."
