Hip Hop Legend and Wu-Tang Clan Member Raekwon the Chef, Celebrates The Release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, With A Star Studded Album Release Party [Tuesday September 8, 2009]
In celebration, Hip Hop royalty and fans alike will gather together on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Santos Party House, to welcome back one of Hip Hop’s favorite MC’s, Raekwon The Chef. To host the evening festivities will be none other than recording executive, performer, producer, writer, arranger, clothing designer, and Broadway actor Sean “Diddy“ Combs. Joining him is HOT 97 morning personality Peter Rosenberg and DJ Kid Capri, warming up the crowd on the wheels of steel. This album release party, presented by Ice H20 Records and Littles, is expected to be one of those legendary moments in New York City Hip Hop.
Easily considered one of the most influential Hip Hop albums of its time, Raekwon’s 1999 smash solo project “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” remains at the top of every Hip Hop “Best of” list. After a brief recording hiatus and years on the road as both a solo artist and a part of the ground breaking Wu-Tang Clan, “The Chef” returns with “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II”, to be released on September 8th on his Ice H2O Record label. Regarding the follow up of his classic Raekwon states, “ I’m excited about this project. This is a true evolution from where we began. I’m also overwhelmed by the love and support that I’ve received. My long time friend and Hip Hop veteran, Diddy reached out to offer his support and agreed to host the event. He also expressed, “All the artist involved, extended themselves for the release of my long awaited album because we all feel Hip Hop as a whole is in need of unifying. Magazines are closing; online storefronts are struggling because music sales are down. It’s time for Vets like myself to set the trend and strengthen the lane. Dinosaurs like myself are supposed to create the blue print for the new breed to follow”.
Industry tastemakers and Hip Hop royalty will be in attendance, as the crowd enjoys performances by: Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Lyfe Jennings, Talib Kweli, Beanie Siegel, Ghostface, Slick Rick, some who are featured on “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II”. The stars will align, as the celebrities converge on the hottest red carpet of the summer. Invited guests include: Kanye West, Fabolous, Jay Z, Swizz Beats, Naughty By Nature, Ice T & Coco, Anthony Anderson, Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, and many more.
