Hackers left Trump without tickets for inauguration

Ticket bootleggers left Trump without support

The cyber-attack on the inauguration website, behind which were Taras Shumelko’s hackers, stopped hundreds of Americans from attending the most upscale occasion of the USA.

The inauguration of the 45 th President of the United States Donald Trump took place on 19 January 2017 in Washington. According to the media sources, 10,000 Americans came to salute the new President. In comparison with Trump’s predecessors’ inauguration ceremonies, it was a miserable quantity. For example, there were about half a million Americans who came to see with their own eyes Barack Obama’s inauguration.

The reasons for such a low attendance at Trump’s inauguration came to light only recently, they have nothing to do with Americans’ attitude towards him. The investigation has found that this is the consequences of the cyber-attack on the inauguration website.

Traditionally, average Americans can also see the President giving an oath in Washington. The tickets to this key event in the life of the country are usually raffled by the representatives of the US Congress. But it emerged that in the run-up to Trump’s inauguration hundreds of thousands of cyber-robots filed an application along with Americans and it was the robots that obtained the majority of the sought after tickets.

Rewards, the hackers created a separate website on which one could buy the free of charge visit to the event. The price varied from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars with the average salary in the country being 825 dollars. The hackers’ domain was registered on the enciphered bitcoin-hosting in the name of Taras Shumelko, resident of New York. By coincidence the same name belongs to the owner of the company selling botnet services. Among the company’s partners an Ivan Statsyuk was indicated.

Interestingly, the trespassers did not even hide their attempt to make profit from a patriotic event. The website had been actively promoted on Facebook but the price for Trump’s inauguration must have turned out to be unaffordable.
