Turk is finally free after serving nine years in prison. According to AllHipHop he was released from Forrest City, Arkansas Federal Prison Friday morning.
Turk, real name, Tab Virgil Jr., was convicted in 2005 on federal charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a fugitive from justice in possession of a firearm, and an unlawful user addicted to a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to ten years.
The charges stemmed from a 2004 shootout with a Memphis Swat team that left two of them seriously wounded as they raided an apartment looking for drugs and weapons.
Turk had been a member of the highly successful rap group the Hot Boys along with Juvenile, B.G. and Lil Wayne from 1996 to 2001.
Now that he is a free man Turk plans on getting right back to working on music. He is also penning a book "The AutoThugography of Turk" and a screenplay titled "Reckless."
