Exclusive Producer Up Next Interview with As I Revolt

What is your name and what city do you rep?
I go by the name of "As I Revolt" and I am from Houston, Texas.

What is unique about you and your music?
The most unique thing about me is that i'm very intimidating when I get in creative mode. Sometimes I don't believe I create some of the music I produce. I've worked with many people and they all have said the same thing. "What the f**k is going on in your brain for you to perfectly process this thing we call music!?"

What shaped your music?
I have so many influences and they all mesh together perfectly when i'm creating. I align myself with happiness, meditate and I often send my music to my friends to critique to see if they vibe to it. I call them my "Heads Up Guys", because if they don't like it, the people won't. Being on a high vibration and counting on friends to be honest with me about my sound, definitely helped me shape my music.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
Well, I've been producing music since 2012, but started taking it seriously as a career in 2015.

What type of music do you listen to?
As a music producer, I am VERY open minded and feel the need to be when it comes to producing music. One day i'll listen to alternative. Another day is trap music, gospel, rnb, pop, edm, soft rock, country, etc. The list goes on.

Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
Yiiiikkkeeeesss. There are so many people I can say and so many categories this question can fall under. I would have to say "Tierra Whack". HANDS DOWN!

What ignites your writing & creative juices?
The main thing that ignites my creative juices are seeing my favorite artists in concert and listening to inspirational speeches.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
When i'm not doing music, I'm either meditating, catching up on the little sleep that I do get and finding new ways to stay inspired.

If you weren’t making music professionally, what would you be doing?
If I wasn't making music professionally, I would probably be at a call center, slaving my life away. No disrespect to anyone that works at one, because I have before. I just can't see myself working for someone for the rest of my life. That is not God's plan for me.

Success to you is…
Success to me is aligning yourself with what you want out of life. I hear many people say, "I'm so tired of being broke!" or "I'm so tired of not getting what I want." What you should be saying is "I'm so glad I have money coming soon." or "I'm blessed and happy to be able to get anything I desire." When you change the way you speak and think, then you become successful.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help an artist starting out?
I wish I was told the proper steps on how to release my music. I know now but before all of this, I came across plenty of fake people and fake promises. If you want to seriously get yourself out there, you have to search in the right places and DO RESEARCH ON PEOPLE. Many people that don't have credit in the industry, love to tell you how they're going to "put you on." If they don't have industry credit, take a pass on that one!

Any upcoming projects or tracks you are apart of?
Yes. I am currently working with "Reeves Junya" on a few projects. Awesome guy!

Where do we find your music / social media?
Yes. All music is available for stream and purchase. Any artists that are looking for new beats to hop on, can stream my videos and contact me. I am always looking for new, talented artists to work with.
