Drake Breaks Apple Music & Spotify Streaming Records With “More Life”

Drake has done it again! After being revealed some days ago as the first artist to hit 10 billion streams on Spotify, Drizzy has broken two new Spotify records following the release of More Life.

More Life has set a new record for best first-day streams for an album, racking up over 61.3 million streams in its first full day, while the Toronto rapper himself set the record for best one-day streams from an artist, with more than 76.3 million streams in a single day.

The previous record holder for both records was Ed Sheeran, with his new album Divide, which dropped earlier this month.

According to The Verge, “More Life” was streamed 89.9 million times on Apple Music during the first 24 hours of availability, breaking the single-day album streams record for every music service

More Life playlist has also given UK artists such as Giggs, Jorja Smith and Skepta, a huge streaming boost with U.S. audiences. According to BBC, streams of Giggs's music by U.S. subscribers increased by 146% over the weekend and after the release of the playlist project. Streams of Skepta's music jumped up 21%, while Jorja Smith saw a gain of 12% in streams on the service.

Tommy u dumb s*** u say if I know my s*** like you then say 1000 steams equals an album sale lmfao not facts! so u dont know your s*** second of all what I said was about streaming .....nothing actually bad about drake. so if what I said about streaming somehow got you guys defensive about drake then get off his d***. I like some drake he's from my city and wasn't hating I was purely talking about streaming subject. I don't think I even said his name in my first post. drake got you all 2 emotional lol so once again streams don't mean s*** to me I'll go off album sales that are projected 500-600k first week.

Damn that like $335,000 just from apple in 1 day. N**** getting hella paid

Drake is Apple's leading music artist. Of course he's "breaking records" for them. SMH, everything about him and his career is manufactured, and corporate. He has as many writers as a sitcom, and twice the promo budget.
