Django Dolls Discontinue Due to Black Leaders Crying Racism

Daily Mail reported that after major outrage from advocacy groups like Al Sharpton's National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope, the figurines that resembled the characters from Quentin Tarantino's biggest blockbuster hit Django Unchained has been discontinued and withdrawn from sale.

In combination with the Weinstein Company, the studio that produced the movie, National Entertainment Collectible Assocation (NECA) contributed to the making of the dolls. Before production stopped, they were able to make a thousand of them.

Amazon.com was selling three figures that depicted the freed slave Django (Jamie Foxx), his sold wife Broomhilda (Kerry Wasington), and another slave Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson). They were apart of a series of several characters in the movie.

This marketing venture came to and end after black community leaders expressed their disgust.

Najee Ali, the director of Project Islamic Hope, said these action figures made a mockery of the horrors of slavery and the African American experience. He took it as a blatant slap in the face to his ancestors. The activist added that if dolls for Inglorious Bastards were made the Jewish community would totally dispute it.

On the other side of the issue, NECA and Weinstein's actions weren't meant to offend. According to them, these figurines were only meant to be collectibles.

@keepitreal .. 2 things. You along with most blacks are the biggest conspiracy theorists because it helps to cope with your utter lack of success and evolution as a race. When they say the strong survive, they mean mentally. I'm not saying what our ancestors did HUNDREDS of years ago was right, but those were conquering times. You and I, in this lifetime, start off equally. Obama is living testament, and i doubt he went through life b******* like 99% of his race. If anything with all the social and forced diversity programs, minorities have a leg up today.

@keepitreal4life You're just as lame with your ignorant blanket statements about "whites". Most white people are fed b******* history (or are just ignorant of it) just like everyone else. As if every white person participates in film-making in Hollywood or writes the history books. You sound no different than racist rednecks talking about blacks.

Holy f***, media coverage for nothing. It's dolls/action figures/collectables based on a movie. I'm all for civil rights, this ain't civil rights, this is activists fighting for stupidness. Either this is to raise the dollar value of the limited quantity of dolls, or this is to take attention of a more important issue in the economy. #AcceptReality.
