Diggy Simmons Speaks On Low Sales Of His Debut Album 'Unexpected Arrival' [Video]

Diggy Simmons' debut album moved 21,000 copies it's first week out to land at No. 13 on the Billboard 200. Not a failure considering the slugging market for album sales, but not quite what the newcomer had hoped to sell.

Karen Civil recently caught up with Diggy to address his album and the 17-year old had a refreshing, mature attitude about it.

"It’s about growth. You look at a whole bunch of people. Look at Reasonable Doubt, when that first came out, that wasn’t anything. And look at Jay now. You could look at Bruno [Mars] recently. When Doo Wops & Hooligans came out, like 50,000 first work and ended up going double plat," he said. "It’s about growth for me. I’m happy that the people who are listening to it are loving it. It’s like having an impact on your life and making them want to aspire to be whatever it is they want to be. Because that’s what Unexpected Arrival is about, it’s about making your arrival in life special. No matter what people say or if they don’t know what you’re capable of. It starts with the belief in you before you try to go and look for other people’s approval. I’m happy that it’s doing that for people."

the reason he didn't sell is because he doesn't have any skills at all... lil' Bow Wow clone... and lil' Bow Wow just tries to clone everything else... if you want to make it big... start out with an original thought

Co sign LC - not every person who buys hip hop wants to hear about the struggle, yea some folks have it hard but a lotta people talkin about the struggle via their MacBook pro and high speed broadband, you ain't strugglin no more so why revert back to it? The rest 'strugglin' cos they were to busy wid their 3 babymamas at 15 than going to school, talkin the system, illuminati and all that b*******, you strugglin cos u want to and diggy makes u realise your life ain't goin nowhere.

The reasion why Diggy ablum didn't do good is because ppl cant relate to Diggy because he not a regular kidd that was on the bottom and rise to the top.He was rich all his life and no one want to see him get richer.
