Da Brat Ordered To Pay $6.4 Million To A Former Falcons Cheerleader She Hit In The Head With A Bottle In 2007 *Story Updated*

Rapper Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris, served three years in prison for assaulting a Georgia woman. Today she was ordered to fork over $3.7 million to the victim.

In 2007, Harris and former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens were at a Halloween party when they got into an altercation.

Harris grabbed a bottle of rum and hit Stevens in the head causing serious injury. Harris was arrested and charged with aggravated felony assault. In 2008 she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison, seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service by DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Gail Flake.

Shayla Stevens (left) was awarded $3.7 million in a civil suit against Da Brat.

In 2009 Stevens filed a civil suit against Harris for causing permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain.

Today a jury in Cobb County Superior Court sided with Stevens and handed down a $3.7 million judgement against Harris.

***UPDATE***

Da Brat is not catching any breaks today. After the initial $3.7 million judgement was handed down, TMZ reports that the jury added an additional $2.7 million on as added punishment. The rapper now has to find a way to pay the victim $6.4 million, which covers her losses in wages and future earnings
