Courtney Love Butchers Jay-Z's '99 Problems' At Sundance Film Festival [Video]

When Jay-Z linked up with legendary producer Rick Rubin for his rap/rock mash-up "99 Problems" in 2004, he couldn't have known that Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love, would attempt to sing it years later. Had he known he probably would have advised her against it.

Love decided to sing the song while at Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, last week.
"It's so genius, it either sucks, or it's genius. I don't know," Love said before launching into a 3-minute version of the song.
There are a lot of rock artists that have done great jobs covering rap tunes in the past, but this wasn't one of those times.

Sounds like typical Courtney to me. If you didnt know the original I would have thought it was a Hole song. Not to say it's good or anything...but she made it her own....which is how covers SHOULD be. You're never supposed to cover a song and outshine the original anyways.
