Video After The Jump
Chris Brown is the latest artist to be profiled on the MTV show This Is How I Made It.
The singing superstar talks about growing up poor in Tappahannock, Virginia, his first public singing experience in church at age 9 or 10 and getting discovered while working with his dad at a gas station.
From there his career took off. He met Tina Davis who eventually would become his manager. She got him an audition in front of L.A. Reid at age 14 and he killed it. That led to his first record deal.
