Busta Rhymes Recalls Battling & Losing To Jay-Z In High School "At The Time He Was So Ill & His Arsenal Was So Long. He Was A Scientist With It" [Video]

What happens when two future hip hop giants face off as young battle rappers?
Busta Rhymes recalls such an occasion, when he and Jay-Z battled for the cafeteria throne back in high school.
"Me, Biggie [Smalls] and Jay went to school at the same time," Busta tells RapFix host Sway. "We [all] went to George Westinghouse Technical & Vocational High School in Brooklyn. One day, somebody came up to me and was like, 'Yo, Hov is in the cafeteria'. They wasn't calling him Hov at the time, they was calling him Jay. 'You wanna step to him on some rhyme sh*t?' So I'm like 'aight lets go'. So we go in there. At the time when we was rhyming it was really a speed rap, that was the style at the time that was really the thing to do. So I knew how to freak it, and he knew how to freak it, so it was like 'lets go toe to toe with it then.' At the time he was so ill with it because of the group he was with. Jaz-O and all of them and that [style] was their thing. He kind of got the best of the situation. I gotta give it up to him. At the time he was so ill with the speed raps and his arsenal was so long that he had one or two more than I did."
Busta remembers the battle so vividly because it was the first time he took an L.
"It was the first time I lost a battle that mattered. The homie always exemplified greatness as an emcee. His ability to play with words. The punchlines and the metaphors and how to bounce syllables around. He was a scientist with it."
Too bad everyone didn't have phone cameras at the time, that had to be epic.
Wow, can you imagine Notorious B.I.G., Busta and Jigga at the same high school?

It surprises me to see that when someone as big as busta rhymes says he got killed by Jay Z in a battle how people/bloggers/critics don't even want to give Jay Z his credit. That n**** ill and busta finally starting to give jay his credit only because he wanted Jay to get on a track with him and he said na. Don't get me wrong busta is a beast dating back to leaders of the new school but I've heard bus in the past diss jay (In interviews; subliminal of course). Now bus wanna collaborate with him so all of a sudden jay is the man.. Bloggers hate Jay cause across the board Jay is the king and like they say all kings get they head cut off.
