Like his football career, Barry Sanders' marriage only lasted 10 seasons (years). I guess he just knows when to call it quits.
The Oakland Press reports:
Barry Sanders is seeking a divorce from his wife of more than 10 years, TV anchor Lauren Campbell-Sanders.
The former Detroit Lions running back filed for divorce Friday in Oakland County Circuit Court.
The couple were married in November 2000 and have three children, according to the complaint. They live in West Bloomfield Township.
Sanders, 43, said in the filing that there has been a breakdown in the marital relationship, and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved.
Sanders is seeking that the parties be awarded joint custody of their children, ages 4, 8 and 10.
“Our client has authorized us to make no comments,” Sanders’ attorney, Lisa Neilson, said in a voicemail message to The Oakland Press.
Sanders said in the filing that he intends to pay child support. He wants to see his wife continue to maintain the children’s health insurance coverage and pay their health care expenses.
What is your take on the whole situation?
