1.) What is your name and what city do you rep?
My stage name is Wizdom and the city I rep is Mississauga and Toronto
2.) What is unique about you and your music
I would personally say is my life perspective, when I was younger I would always have strong
personality in the sense that I always believed I could do anything I put my mind towards. I believe
in anything you do life there will be others who will try to tell you that you are not capable of doing
it but that’s where my unique life perspective kicks in and keeps me going to the next thing. You can
hear that within my music because I like to write songs that have a story to it where the listener can
actually benefit from it, the sound within my music is a hybrid of Hip Hop/Rap and Alternative music
but within my music you will find Rock and Country music elements. I feel that music is a fluid form
of expression so it can be whatever you want it to be, in that sense I love to illustrate my love for
melodies within my music, I spend months on end making sure my music will give the listener a
experience from start to finish.
3.) What shaped your music
Very early on I was huge fan of DMX, Eminem, Jay-Z, Biggie, 2pac and many more but even I was
born in the early 90’s I always knew the importance of studying the game and having admiration for
the artist who have gone before me and have payed a way for us upcoming artist. More recently, I
feel as if rock music and the punk music scene is what really drives me. Currently I am doing Hip-
Hop/Rap but I will have albums with completely different genres. I loved hearing all genres of music
because you can learn so much by hearing different sounds, as an artist I always want to expand and
really add my own taste to the culture.
4.) When Did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
Before I started releasing music publicly, I would always work on my music in private for many years
until I felt I was ready for the music industry. I would say about 3-4 years of making music with the
idea of trail and error. When I made the record “Fly Guy” around Summer 2016 and this was the
same time I had finished university with a business degree and it hit me that I was ready for it. I am
the type of artist that can write songs but also have no problem with making music on the go, after
releasing music on SoundCloud, Youtube and streaming platforms I started to gain a fanbase from
across the world. It was a humbling experience no doubt and when I was invited for shows in
Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area I would see the reaction towards the faces of crowd and just
every show the amount of people kept growing. I never wanted a handout and I always wanted to
earn my spot within the music industry. I am always working in the studio making new music or
producing new beats or writing songs for myself and in some situations ghost writing for other artist
What Type of Music Do You Listen To?
I Listen to all genres anything with melody, I am huge fan of rock and pop genre also some of the
greatest records of all time came from those genres and as I said previously I’m always studying the
game and I get so inspired hearing great records makes me want to stay in the studio for days on
end until I find my own pocket. As an artist you must be aware that on a sub conscious level you can
pick up on different sounds when hearing music so its only natural to build upon what has already
been done before.
Who, to you is the most undervalued music artist?
I would never specifically say that an artist is undervalued, I respect all artist from all genres and
support great music period but with that being saying not all artist get the due credit they deserve
for the impact and influence on the culture. I feel like an artist such as Royce Da 5’9 should be a
much bigger artist because he is one of the best rappers of all time, I believe he is the only artist that
can compare with a legend such as Em. I actually had conversations with Royce about those days
and it only made me respect him even more. In my eyes he is a legend in the game and always will
be one of the greatest rappers to do it and when you see greatness in front of you, all you can do is
soak in the knowledge and really focus on getting better as an artist and keep pushing.
What ignites your (song) writing flow?
I would say that is either an idea I might have about a song or if it’s a beat that really connects with
me, I always try my best to gain inspiration from all sources in my life. I love to have different songs
that have a wide range of subject topics such as love songs, party songs, soul songs, success songs
because I want my music to be a life soundtrack for my fans. I know how powerful music can be so I
do my best in using the power in a productive way and give value to the listener
Success to you is…
Success to me doing what I love to do for a living and that’s creating music, I am happy because
music is the love of my life. I always kept the idea of finding what you love to do and create a way in
creating a liveable income by the means of music. Everything is a process so as an artist I am going
through the process
