Album Review: "Manna" Fashawn Is A Lyrical Genius

Album: Manna
Artist: Fashawn
Rating: 4.5 Gold Bars

Atlanta rap methodology makes Gucci Mane the nucleus from the city’s modern scene because of his ability to attach themself to local talent at least take some part within their cultivation. In other words, a co-sign from him could change a profession trajectory.

Historically, there has not been a better example of Gucci Mane’s seal-of-approval then their joint mixtapes. Inconsistent high quality really led to variable usage on those projects anyhow. For every fan classic such as Young Thugga Mane Los angeles Flare or Free Stones (with Future), there were amazing flops like BAYTL (V-Nasty) or 1017 Vs The entire world (Lil Uzi Vert). Anticipate Ralo LaFlare to place by itself around the latter mentioned because Gucci’s collaboration with his current 1017 Eskimo Records signee Ralo can be an overwhelmingly unpleasant listen.

The root of the mixtape’s problem is that Ralo shoulder blades the entire project as Gucci only makes a handful of performances on tracks including the introduction “Ralo Back” featuring a shock appearance by OJ Ag Juiceman on “I’m Remorseful. ” And oddly enough, DropTopGuwop doesn’t even bother appearing on the half-hearted remake associated with his Plies-assisted single “Wasted” which arrives in the form of “Trap Star Lifestyle. ”

Visitor features or production do not help much either. The actual Sean Garrett and Fetty Wap assisted “Dangerous Love” at times sounds like “Trap Full Part Deux” without the Wildlife Gang member’s melodic surface. Meanwhile, “Chiraqistan” featuring Lil Durk is just as ridiculous since the title suggests. Notable beatmakers Honorable C-Note and Wheezy toss Ralo throwaway instrumentals, complete with the standard 808s, claps, anthemic chords; nothing to notice here that hasn’t already been done better over the past 10 years. Young Dolph delivers Claro LaFlare’s saving grace verse via “Never Going Broke. ”
Despite being known as the person who once went virus-like making it rain on desolate like a night at Miracle City, Ralo’s higher frequency southern drawl delivery can not match the outrageousness his personality displayed on social networking. However , more introspective occasions on the project’s second 1 / 2 like “Sometimes” or “Mother’s Day” give a bit more level to what’s essentially a good aimless project. If the objective of Ralo LaFlare would serve as a grand introduction with regard to Famerica’s leader through the buzz of his label manager, consider this operation F The I L with the areas and all caps. It’ll get more than “Wasted” remakes to achieve the status of Waka Flocka, Peewee Longway and even OJ himself.

Pull Up - SKZIY (Official Video)

Brooklyn, New York born hip-hop artist SKZIY refers to himself as the “Yelp! of the culture -- the guide to what’s cool.” Sonically, he’s trap music with a witty fusion of classic hip hop vibes that allow him to showcase his versatility and “rewind worthy” punchlines. It’s safe to say these attributes are largely a result of his musical influences, Fabolous, Cam’ron and Jay-Z -- three monumental rap figures who’ve influenced SKZIY’s own style and business acumen. After a rough adolescence in…See More
