-- VH1 are showing more and more love to the genre of hip-hop these days. In addition to their annual Hip-Hop Honors ceremony, in which the network honors legends in the game, they are set to count down hip-hop's best songs with a special series of episodes dubbed "VH1 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs."
The episodes began Monday (September 29) with 100-81, and they will countdown 82-1 throughout the next two weeks.
Already, the top five have been leaked though. Miss Info leaked the list on her blog, and the top song of all time is Public Enemy's "Fight the Power," at no. 2 is Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," no. 3 is Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But A G Thang," no. 4 is Run DMC's "Walk This Way," while Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's "The Message" rounds out the top billing.
So far, 100-81 has featured the likes of Master P, Eve, Yo-Yo, Heavy D, DMX, Big Pun and EPMD, among others.

The show, narrated by Fab 5 Freddy, also features new original interviews with rap's biggest names plus rare archival performance footage. Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Salt N Pepa, OutKast, Eminem and Grandmaster Flash are among the artists profiled.
