Wow! Just when you thought it couldn't get any better. First he [Favre
] was suppose to go back to the Packers, then he was suppose to go to the mighty Vikings
, and now he gets offered millions to watch NFL
Sunday from his living room?? I tell you...when your worth something in this world, you sure will know it.
Quarterback legend Brett Favre
may now want to rethink his decision of returning to the football field. Green Bay Packers
coach Mike McCarthy
has reported set up a marketing deal for Favre, paying approximately $20 million over the next 10 years to stay off the field. Yeah, off the field.
While this may seem like a bribe, the deal actually been on the table for sometime now. As to whether the football god will take it is the question thats seems to be on everybody's mind...even Favre's. "There isn't a perfect solution to this, but Mark Murphy
is at least trying," Favre told ESPN
. "We know what they want and where I stand. His solution, although awkward and unsettling for most, may be the best in the end."
Although that sound like the best bet, Favre still has a few options left. He could get traded, which will be unlikely, seeing that the teams who are interest in him are rivals to the Packers. Or he could return to the Packers bench, which will probably be more of a distraction to the team rather than helping them.
Favre should seriously think about taking the deal. I'm sure he loves the game and wants to continue playing but he has a great legacy to protect. However, if he could go to the Vikings that wouldn't be so bad either, until you have to play at home and get booed by the fans who once loved you so much.
