Better TV had the chance to catch up with 50 Cent recently at the launch of Street King Energy Drink. They talked with 50 about what inspired him to start the ambitious project, what made him choose the name "Street King" and why he chose an energy drink instead of alcohol for the initiative.
"Alcohol would probably be an easy fit because alcohol is consumed where music is played. The bar, the nightclub, whatever kind of club," 50 said. "Energy is more a reflection of my lifestyle because I don't drink. So, it would be hard for me to be supportive of an alcohol beverage when I don't drink."
Many of 50's celebrity friends were in attendance at the event showing their support. UK singer Corinne Baily Rae said she is really happy to see the G-Unit boss giving back.
"I think his music is really enjoyable and I also like his ambition," she said. "He has these intentions to feed a billion children in the developing world and Africa. That's a huge ambition so, I'll be interested to speak to him about that."
"I think it's a partnership. The people, your fans are what put you here. So, when you get to this level of success I think it's only right to give back," said Pepa of Salt-N-Pepa.
