Cassidy and Meek Mill are currently locked in an ongoing battle on wax. To date Cass has released two diss tracks, "Me, Myself & iPhone" and "R.A.I.D." While has dropped the song "Repo." There are a wide variety of opinions on who is winning the war of words. Power 105.1 radio personality Charlamagne Tha God recently sat down with Vlad TV to give his opinion on why he believes ultimately Cassidy can't win.
"Cassidy can't win man," Charlamagne said. "I'm on record saying that. If it was just like a URL battle where it was just Cassidy a capella [Vs.] Meek Mill a capella, I think Cassidy would win. Because I think Cassidy would take the Loaded Lux approach where he would basically be talking about spiritualism over materialism. And I think people would probably buy into that. But Meek Mill makes better songs than Cassidy. Cassidy is a better battle rapper, but Meek Mill makes better songs. And right now Meek Mill is the hot guy so Meek Mill can get better beats, and can afford better beats. I don't think can afford better beats and ain't nobody gonna be throwing Cassidy no beats for him to do a diss record towards Meek Mill. I feel like hip hop nowadays is more of a popularity contest than a talent show. So even if you are more skilled than your opponent, if you're not as popular as your opponent nobody's gonna care."

People assume that the most lyrical rapper will always win rap battles but lyrical rappers tend to use a lot of metaphor, big words & intentionally have boring beats for it won't distract from what they're saying. It does showcase their skills but you don't remember anything they said. The less lyrical rapper focus on beats, hooks & punchline (which is a better song)& that make it simple for the listener & leave a lasting effect because everyone remember hard hitting punchlines. So I agree that while yes Cassidy is a more skillful lyricist, Meek Mills would win the battle in a lot of hip hop fans eyes because he would craft a better song.

@dwayne I guess cass ain't picking the right beats. He got a new single another one I like produced by jahlil it's Ight. An jahlil said right after that song came out he gave that beat to cass before the beef. Basically saying he ain't giving cass s*** cuz he riding with meek. An that's his best hit in a while guess he better go find those free beats you talking bout lol
