Lil Wayne Not Feeling The Big Apple "Flat Out I Don't Like New York" [Video]

Video After The Jump

In a January 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne vowed to never play another concert in New York City.

"They'd have to give me U2 money," he said at the time.

Since then his stance has softened. He even took part in Nicki Minaj's concert last week at the Roseland Ballroom, but his disdain for the city remains.

Wayne's 2007 gun arrest after a NYC show led to him spending 242 days in Rikers Island in 2010. It's a stint he remembers well. In a new interview with MTV at the Magic Convention in Las Vegas where he was introducing his new SUPRA sneaker line, Wayne talked about his recent show in NYC.

"Flat out I don't like New York," Wayne said. "But the whole Summer Jam/Nicki thing, I can't really remember the situation, but I know it was my call. As far as last week['s concert], last week was awesome. I think everything happens for a reason, and I think when people say that, you're not supposed to leave it at, 'Everything happens for a reason.' I believe everything happens for a reason and then you make the most of that reason. I think we made the most of it last week."

Im from LA and I Love NYC and the entire east coast to be honest.. its a completely different vibe from So Cali but I could feel the energy of the city if that makes any sense ? The only thing I didnt like about NYC is theres way too much cement and not enough grass, tress and all that bullchit.. oh yea, and most of the cribs I seen had window air conditioners in the city and from what I'm told.. HELLA OVERPRICED !!! lmaoooooo I wouldnt spend stacks to live in a spot wit a raggedy azz window A/C and nothing but pavement to look at.. but I'd rather go to NYC than Vegas.. real talk

Everyone always hates on New York. The reason he hates nyc is because of the cops. The cops are racist. If you live in NY you know what i mean. Everyone else hating on NY never been there or can't handle the fast city.

there's a reason why new yorkers look miserable all the time. everybody grumpy and in a bad mood. y'all got attitude and some rude mofoz. why? cuz u sure you city got a lot goin on, but ur all slaves to the city. compare the lifestyle of a new yorker to that of a n.i.g.g.a living out in spain or sumtin. life expectancy is much higher, cuz life is far better

as much as i hate Weezy i can see his point. if anything this shows even more how New York is no longer a force in the hiphop world, 10yrs ago if he said this his career would be over. i do have to laugh tho they playin the Roseland Ballroom what does that seat 3000 people please sell out Madison Square Garden then talk s***..

"as the day goes by, the chances of 50 ever dropping an album gets more slim. it already looks bad that he's stuck on 5 albums while other artists keep growing. the downfall of his career was drastic."
