Is There A Kendrick Lamar & Lady Gaga Collaboration In The Works? Singer Praises Rapper. Compton MC Speaks On Their Friendship [Pics]
Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar have struck up a friendship which might lead to a future musical collaboration. Gaga first revealed that she was a fan of the Compton rapper a couple of weeks ago on Twitter. She told one of her followers that she liked his lyrics and thanked Kendrick for calling her while she was overseas.
The interesting dialogue continued on Sunday, July 15th.
“@kendricklamar #womenweedandweather listening to The Recipe. Can your new album come out now so i can go out to clubs and dance again," Gaga tweeted to Kendrick yesterday. "@kendricklamar sitdown DRANK stand up DRANK. are you teaching a lyric writing program in compton? ‘Swimming Pool’ is so cool,” she continued in support of his new single.
She even retweeted one of Kendrick's tweets about his hair.
Also on Sunday at the 2012 Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, where Kendrick was performing the two were spotted together. Gaga stood by the side of the stage and watched Kendrick's set.
The Source caught up with the Southern California MC to ask about his relationship with the singer.
"That's a real good friend... a real good friend," Kendrick explained.
When asked about a possible collaboration between the two Kendrick said he was hopeful.
"God willing .... for now I just like the friendship thing," he said.
Kendrick's new album good kid, m.A.A.d city will be released on October 2nd. Would you like to hear a collaboration between K Dot and Gaga on it?

Music should not have bounds and rappers should collaborate with everyone since the result seems good.But they should not forget their roots and include them in their albums.

Yeah Romil, damn this censorship made me misspell "this" instead of "these" and "ever" instead of "every"...but yeah, no matter how revolutionary someone is, no matter how smart someone is, no matter how talented someone is, if you are a weak soul, you will get "dumbded" down the first time you realize that you are owned by someone else, hence you are a sellout. (that's what these new so called rappers are, in a nut shell)

I dont know how people considering it winning when you agree to make a song with a POP artist and youre supposed to be in the HIPHOP genre. Imma stick to Old Skool HIpHop from now on. @AVITY ? Could you Imagine WU Tang, Doing a song with Madonna mixed with Marilyn Manson.?? Or Nas doing a Song with Brittney Spears. This don't help artist it breaks them from there Core fans and next they go POP. Next think Kendrick will be the next Flo Ridah. Black Hippy is a movement if they stick to what they do they can be the next movement in HipHop like PE, or Wu, even KRS stuck to his roots.

@SMP Realtalk these rappers is tripping nowadays. I feel like I did when Jay Electronica signed to Roc Nation. Kendrick and Lady GAGA have NOTHING in common. They tryna cross artist over now to confuse the masses. Hey lets bring the socially aware,lyrical fiending crowd to Lady GAGA by letting Kendrick Lamar do a song with her.WTF Yall gotta listen to all this dudes music then youll understand what Im saying this dude got some revolutionairy type ish.

with how diverse kendrick is i think he could pull this collabo off and still keep his core fan base... not a fan of lady gaga but she can sing so be interesting to see what they could cook up if they were to work together
