Michael Jackson Hologram To Go On Tour? Brother Jackie Says It's "Absolutely" An Option

Tupac Shakur's hologram performance at Coachella might just be the tip of the iceberg for deceased artists. Could the King of Pop, Michael Jackson be next?

Jackson's brothers Tito, Jermaine, Jackie and Marlon are planning a 27-city tour and MJ could make an appearance.

"It could have Michael—absolutely," Jackie told E! Online. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show."

The brothers are still working out a set list for what they are calling the Unity Tour 2012.

"There are so many songs," Jackie said. "That's the hardest part because we want to include all the favorites and not leave anything out. We're going to sing some of Michael's stuff, too. We're going to honor him on the stage. He'd want us to do our thing to the best of our ability."

The tour will launch June 18 in Louisville, Kentucky.

They also did it for Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole. Was just reading twitter on Coachella, and says Dre wants to do it for Hendrix and Marvin Gaye too!
I like it, think it's exciting...but...just like movies now when actors only do the voice-overs, and animation plays the part-- just have to watch it, that's all. Illusion can't take over reality, you know??

Just a couple of things that the sheeple here should know. A rock band named Motley Crue was first to roll this out during their residency at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas back in Feb. They did this and the company that handled the holograms used that to market to everyone else. Dre picked it up and did the 2pac thing. So, if we are going to be brutally honest, Dre was the innovator only as it relates to hip hop, not for the music industry as a whole. That being said, it's a fad and insanely expensive to do because the pre production costs are prohibitive for most artists. I doubt the jackson fam tour is going to generate enough to cover at least a million dollars in pre production expenses to take Michaels concert footage and convert it to a 3 dimensional image. They are certainly up against the clock since their kickoff date is 2 months from now. It would take 2 mos to get the holograms ready and that doesn't include dress rehearsals, implementation etc. One more thing...the hologram gear has not been tested in the touring environment. Motley Crue did it under residency. The gear stayed in the same place for a month. Dre only used it for one show. No one knows if that stuff will hold up under the stress of being moved to a different city every night.

Dr. Dre is an innovator ... He started the headphone frenzy with entertainers, and now the hologram frenzy with late entertainers ... can't deny the hustle ....

Yea right, f****** cheap bastards. At least give Dre some credit for what he's done. It's morally f*****, but don't act all tough about it, you're copying get over it.
