Havoc Denies Mobb Deep Split, Explains Wild Tweets. Prodigy Breaks Silence

The rap world was in shock Monday [April 9] when it looked like Queens legends Prodigy and Havoc might be parting ways, but now it looks like news was bogus.

Havoc reached out to several media outlets late Monday to explain that his phone had been stolen, resulting in an impostor sending out several disparaging tweets about Prodigy.

Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey. I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game," Havoc wrote.

"To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual! It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!

Havoc's account on the social networking site no longer exists, but Prodigy finally broke his silence on the subject via his Twitter page.

@unitg how can you be a G-UNIT/50 Cent fan and not be a BUCK fan??? how can you not even want him back " a litte"? BUCK MADE G-UNIT AS GRIMY AS THEY WERE! without BUCK, the G-Unit Brand would have never went as far as they did. #BRINGBUCKBACK 50

After allegedly posting tweets claiming that Prodigy was gay, Havoc denied that he sent the messages and that his account was hacked. But earlier this morning, Power 105’s The Breakfast Club aired an audio clip of Havoc, as identified by N.O.R.E., making the same claims of Prodigy’s sexuality and stating that he had to smack P at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

“I don’t hate gay people or nothing like that, but watch these n***** in the jail come out from the woodwork who are going to tell you what the f*** he was doing,” he says on the recording. “He gay. I had to smack him like a month and a half ago at SXSW.”

N.O.R.E. called in to identify the voice as belonging to Havoc, confirming that it was indeed him. Listen to the clip below (via RR).
