I dont get this s***. An innocent kid died its very sad yes. But he's not the first one? Where are all the others tribute songs?

@cardinal Sin thats the Uncle Tom coonery that is being spread around...plenty of people do talk about it... plenty of artists talk about it...everyone from Jay-z to Jeezy....this is a symbol that people can rally around...a recognizable name and situation. They are doing the right thing by talking about this...do you think Rosa parks was the first person to not give up her seat?? Its all about having a rallying point for an issue...Trayvon, Sean bell, Troy Davis, among others are those rallying points to highlight a greater in justice...the issue here is a double issue...if a latino or black is killed by a latino or black...and they are caught...they are going directly to jail...justified or not...the 1st issue is that he wasn't taken to jail...despite the evidence available on the scene that should have sent him their...and he STILL remains free....the second issue is that there is a system of extermination/abuse/oppression by the government/police forces against blacks and latinos...especially poor latinos and blacks....because of this law (which provides a route to murder than resolution) and the seemingly passive way that the police handled this boy's murder is a cause for outrage...coupled with the stereotypical demonization of this typical, regular, otherwise average American kid...its about society's indifference to the death of a minority child than to one of white (anglo) heritage. Studies overwhelmingly show that this would be a completely different case had the roles been reversed.
and to answer you question... NO its not okay no matter who does it but I feel my explanation explains the situation surrounding this and others including Oscar Grant of Oakland.

17 year old black and latino kids get killed everyday. Where was the songs for them? As long as its your own color or ethnicity it's ok to murder? These rappers are looking like real clowns for this bandwagon s***.

@A you are the f****** idiot...HE WAS WHITE. I am hispanic...so I believe I will speak for Hispanics here when I dissect and define what it is to be Hispanic. He was raised in a white house hold, by a white father, sure his mother is Hispanic, but he was raised with the spirit and mentality of white privilege..its in his diction of speech, it is in his actions, and in his mannerisms. Also in the fact that he has little ties to Peru NOR does he speak Spanish. He may TECHNICALLY be half Hispanic BUT his mentality is FULL white... privileged white at that. A Hispanic man...especially one who self identifies as Hispanic (or who is identified by society as such)...living and growing up in the South no less, would be less afraid and suspicious of a black man than a white one...thats coming from being around Hispanics (of every color...white, brown and black) and living in the same Central Florida area where this happened...the racism and institutionalized prejudice down there is real...if you had any cultural awareness then you would already know this. No Hispanics in Central Florida nor nearly anywhere else in this country claim him...he also self Identifies as White and half hispanic (which means he looks at his mother's ethnicity as being a "fact of the matter" not as his identifier or definer of his personal being)...that being said, people who are in power or who have visibility who speak against these things are doing the right thing by exposing this systematic slaughter by the system with no accountability. If his name had been Jorge Zeyala maybe this story would have been different...he would have been arrested AT LEAST (the major point here), law or no law, and told to tell it to the judge and jury. FACT. And also you would probably have a different conversation which would address the issues between Black Americans and Hispanics (regardless of race). One thing is for certain, he WOULD NOT be walking around free. Hispanics and Blacks see this as dangerous...we are minority groups who have been determined as expendable by society...we have to use every tool in our possession to fight this stigma...and like Mos Def said...its not even courageous..its simple self preservation in its simplest form.... That being said...you are an even bigger idiot for suggesting that these guys are bandwagoners...especially since 80-90% of their music talks about this stuff BEFORE this situation...I can tell that you probably dont listen to them...and I also appreciate Bobby Rush for his stand in the House...come see me when he gets reelected...he has a much small based to cater to and I bet his constituents are happy with what he did.

Hispanic on black crime, or just some idiot cop killing an innocent kid? And what are you doing to protest, wearing a hoody lol or making rap songs? I think some of you ignorant fuckheads need to hop on bandwagons and find something to protest cause you're unhappy with your own well being.
