During a recent press conference for his upcoming title fight with Miguel Cotto that will take place May 5th in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was asked who the best boxer of all time was.
"Ali was the greatest, Floyd Mayweather is the best ever," Floyd said. "When you're rating a guy on pound-for-pound you got to rate him on the opponents he have beat. Because when I faced Oscar De La Hoya... he's in his 30's, I'm in my 30's. When I faced Shane Mosely... he's in his 30's, I'm in my 30's. When I face Cotto... he {will be] in his 30's, I'm in my 30's. And when I faced Diego Corrales, may he rest in peace...he was in his 20's, I was in my 20's. Same with Zab Judah. When he was in his 20's, I was in my 20's. So the only thing I wanna do is go out there and continue to please the boxing fans. And non boxing fans."

Greatest boxer of all time is Sugar Ray Robinson 173 wins 108 by knockout 19 loses started out his career 40-0. turned pro in 1940 between that time and 1951 his record was 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts there were times he would fight twice in a WEEK mayweather barely fight twice in a yr Flyod is great but he not even top ten all time there are plenty of boxers I'm sure none of y'all ever heard of with more impressive careers that Floyd. Robinson and Ali beat ppl who were all time greats Floyd don't have many on his resume and the few he has were over the hill.....hands down best boxer of all time SUGAR RAY ROBINSON

majority of the people who are going to see the fight,wants to see floyd get f***** up so its all about floyd. check your stats floyd is the pay per view king pulling in the highest numbers ever. and with everything else you said the challenger in my books should not get half.its all about bob arum,hell if cotto hadn't left arum this fight would not be taken place!!!!arum knows the people are on mannys side so,he can keep making excuses and the people will say floyd ducking, just like you said about you never seen these other fighters back out which is a lie!!!

so you mean to tell me that the hype surrounding the fight has to do with mayweather alone ??? check the stats, pacquiao pulls in as much pay per view viewers as mayweather does !!! there is no other fight now, or in the past that has generated as much buzz as the pending fight between mayweather and pacquiao !!!! and that's from both sides, its only right they split it half way !!!!!!! its obvious and a known fact that if the fight goes down, and a fighter happens to win, there will be a retirement announced from the winner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its only right to go out with a bang and make the most money to secure their retirement so that they and their families can be in a nice financial space !!!!!!!!!
