you gotta remember back then the consumer was more into street hits not radio play hits... with the exception of in da club which was a national anthem still is but it was a global sensation street wize and radio wize, most kids who actualy buy cds now dont really know whats up, most people that do download music more legally or illegaly, and im not gonna lie i do not buy music i do not support and i buy them on itunes

and to all who hate now: you don't know fuck about music! someone already wrote it below me, in da club debuted at 67 and was later a number 1 hit! candy shop debuted at even at 82 at billboard 100 and was a #1 hit! so make sure you know what you're talin about. you see, for a single without even an album out yet is this a mad high chart position! fifty made a #1 hit with baby by me, you'll see...

I remember the "Good Rich or Die Tryin" times...Maan those were the days of Hip Hop.Damn!
That album had 19 songs and like 17 of them were hits.
"In Da Club" wasn't in no top 100.It was in top 5!

The issue I have with this is that 50 cent keeps trying to make those "hit" records. Where in times past he was just making music and it turned out to be a hit. I really wish 50 cent would just listen to himself and stop catering to any audience type. Artists dictate what fans hear - fans should not control the sound that artists use becuz fans really don't know what they like until they hear it. Personally Put that Work in with a more radio friendly hook would have been a masterpiece, or the clip from they burn me sounded fair enough, 50 cent has to evoke emotion from the audience because they think he lacks substance.
