Update: Rihanna Cooperating With Police
Brown turned himself into Los Angeles police Sunday night (February 8) after a woman came forward claiming that she was attacked by the singer after they got into dispute.
Police had initially refused to reveal the identity of the woman but The Los Angeles Times has confirmed that it is Rihanna.
Their dispute occurred early Sunday morning and police say Rihanna suffered bruises and a scratch to her face and received medical attention at a local hospital.
Rihanna and Brown were both slated to perform at the Grammy Awards Sunday but they both never showed.
Brown was charged Sunday with one count of making felony criminal threats. He is currently out on $50,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on March 5th.
The incident has dampened Brown's image and has caused bubblegum giant Wrigley to suspend its advertising campaigns featuring the singer.
The company said they will lift the suspension after the case has been resolved. Brown is a spokesman for Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum.

iight yall needa stop spreadin rumors bout watz goin on....theres 2 much rumors goin round...but i do believe that rihanna did sumthing 2 get messed up like that cuz chris dont strike me as a dude that would hit his chick juss becuz they fightin....anyways he do really need 2 c** out n say sumthing cuz all ppl gonna do is see rihanna as the victom n him as the abuser but i think that he cud recover from this incident an c** bacc strong as eva wit his career
