By  |

Ivan Brooks releases his new song “Flowers”, paired with a music vide. This is a powerful RnB anthem for Resilience celebrating those who deserve it most and deserve to be handed their “Flowers”.

Ivan Brooks is a singer and songwriter located in Rhode Island, originally coming to the USA from Liberia, Africa. Ivan spent two years of his childhood life in Ghana, as a refugee, after escaping the horrible civil war in Liberia. Ivan and his family were one of the lucky few selected refugee families that came to the United States during that time. Ivan grew up singing in a church choir in New York and Music became an escape from the PTSD caused by the war and the hard times he and his single mother faced.

Ivan was then discovered for his musical gift by local producer Justin Graham while  singing in the neighborhood church choir and high school talent shows. Ivan went on to Win the 2008 Underground Music Awards in Time Square, alongside upcoming artists  Nicki Minaj. Ivan won the Best male R&B artist for that year at B.B Kings. It was in these environments from L.A to NYC where he rubbed shoulders with stars such as J Cole, who was fresh in his career. Cole offered Ivan many mentorship advice but the one that stuck was resilience with his gift and drive.

Returning with his new Music “Flowers” and upcoming project Ivan is ready to show his versatility. He has also launched a brand “Situated” which carries the message of resiliency through fashion, mental health, events and connecting people.  “Situated Music” was later created to be the melody of the movement. Keep an eye out for this growing Artist.
