About Me

Devyne was born in Queens, NY on May 14, 1986. As a child, Devyne spent most of his time in church playing the drums and singing in his church choir. His father was a former musician in a group, 'The 5 Shades of Black'. Devyne always loved music and actively participated in any events involving music in his church playing the drums & singing in his church choir & participated in the live audio engineering process. As he grew older, he began to hone in on his musical skills and began his career in music. In 2006, Devyne moved to Baldwin, NY where he attended Nassau Community College & studied Business administration, & marketing. While attending Nassau, he went under the wing of Business Law Attorney & Professor Frank Kilgannon. Mr Kilgannon still mentors Devyne to this day. After witnessing how costly the music production process was, he picked up the craft of recording engineering, opened a recording studio & founded Devyne Enterprises with his partner Jason Willis. The two dedicated the company to providing industry quality production & services at affordable prices. The company has since esteblished relationships with promoters such as Harlem Arts Alliance, Lewis & Kirk Music (where he is employed as music production assistant) radio station 90.3fm Rhythm & Soul radio, & PoeticVent, Def Perception Clothing Inc, Samuel Adoquei, Flashy 44's, & PR firm The Red Eye Group. These companies and individuals now endorse and sponsor the artists & producers under the Devyne Enterprises umbrella. Devyne has produced for up & coming artists Sky, Michee Da Don, Veronica Jones, Bazo, Gramz, Lady Roc, & many others. Devyne says that life's lessons and blessings is what inspire him to create muzyq (his way of saying unique music). Some of Devyne's musical influences are Michael Jackson, Seal, One Republic, & Kanye West. Devyne's versatility allows him to create all kinds of music, allowing him to tap into various genres such as R&B, Hip-Hop, Alternative, & Pop music. By recording & mixing his own songs plus combining unique harmonies & melodies together Devyne is able to distinguish his style from many others. Devyne is currently working on his first mixtape '#WingSpan: The LiftOff' (May 2012), & a collaboration album with Michee Da Don 'Gentz Muzik' that is expected to debut in 2012. He also has upcoming collaborations with Crystal Kelly, Sly, Showtyme, & TJ Di Hitmaker & many more up and coming artists. In a world where tragedy and sorrow seem to occur way to often, Devyne creates muzyq in hopes of inspiring those dealing with the hardships of life and motivating his fans to dream and achieve their goals through love, respect, loyalty, & empathy.
