Elite's Biography
Singer/ rapper/ dancer/ producer Elite is from Greensboro, NC. He has recently released his demo which includes "North Cackalack" and 3 other songs (which are above) on Feb. 25. Elite is also CEO of his label, Never Blend N Entertainment, which is located at 10101 Forum Park Dr. in Houston, TX. Elite's music is legendary; by combining his talents in music to his sexy baritone voice, he is able to single-handedly change the way music has been done. "North Carolina needs me, and I need them. Together we can blow up this countrified state and make A&Rs from New York and L.A. come to see what we're all about."
Elite, born Issac Moma Oghenekevebe, was born on September 23, 1983 in a small town of Franklin, NC. At the age of 8, his mother and father lost their parental rights and Issac resided in various foster care homes until the age of 14. At 14, he was moved to Alamance Group Home located in Greensboro, NC. He was very active in extracurricular activites including Varsity Football, Track and Field, and the Navy JROTC. In Greensboro, Issac took numerous classes in dance including ballet, tap, jazz, african, modern, and hip-hop. He was in his high school vocal ensemble for 2 years and won twice in the high school's yearly talent shows. In 2002, at the age of 18, Issac graduated school with a 3.0 GPA and was 2x all-conference in Football as cornerback and 2x all-conference in the 100 meter dash in Track. He then attented North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, where he majored in Music with a concentration in vocal performance. "I felt like I was in a great environment because I was taking piano classes, singing, and dancing all the time and performing is what I love to do. Plus, my roomate was playing the drums for the band and he would bring his bandmates to the room and play the videos of every drumline performance. I also started writting my first songs and rhymes at Central. I learned so much about music and the teachings I still use to this day." He also fell in love with a student and she bore his first born, Issac Malik Oghenekevebe. "I always and still do love my son and I want him to have the life I never had as child, wealth and a father. So that's why I'm griding as hard as I can."
Having a child on the way, Issac decided to leave the university and look for work in other cities. He moved in with his mother in Douglasville, GA. "I finally got to see my mom's side of the family when I was in Georgia. It was a very emotional time for me because before that time, I haven't seen them since I was 7." His mother thought he should see his father in Houston, TX so in 2004, they packed up and moved further south. Once in Houston, he finally meet his dad, which he also hadn't seen in years. "I was introduced to my dad's friends which are Nigerian and got to know more about my past and african roots."
Once in Houston, Issac worked as a inside and outside sales representive for various companies. "I really learned how to sale myself and how and what to say to close business deals. It was like a "legal" hustle and I was getting better and better everyday." He soon fell in love with another woman and they resided together in Houston. After things were starting to fall apart with the relationship, Issac then moved in with his mother in the summer of 07, where he was able to save money to buy his laptop computer. "My Ex was older than I was so I matured alot with her. I was able to do alot of adult things like paying bills and learned alot about long-term relationships." Living with his mom was not always okay because she would have outburst of talking to herself. "She is bi-poller and has to take medication to keep her calm." In September, Issac moved out to his own apartment and began producing and recording his first demo with 4 songs, which are above.
"I know that inspite of everything I've been through, I still thank God because I know that He causes things to happend for a reason. I don't know what it all is, though I know some, but I live everyday with enthusiasm and joy because I know that one day, and one day very soon, I'll be where God wants me to be and that will fulfill me more than anything. I'll make history, I'll be great, but most of all I'll be the realest, down-to-earth, countrified boy from North Carolina and YOU WILL NEVER FORGET ME! EVER!"
