- October 19, 1990, in Mandeville, Jamaica Sakina k. Golding was born. As a child she enjoyed acting, writing and even singing. She would perform for her family and classmates. She once sang solo for her school’s graduation and she fell in love with performing there she knew she wanted to entertain people. When “kina”, a nick name given to her by her cousin in Jamaica, was eleven she migrated to the United States. There in Miami she met her soon to be best friend and group member Rochelle N. Whyte. Rochelle was born march 21, 1991 in Miami, Florida; coming from Jamaican decent. Sakina and Rochelle easily became friends through the similarities they shared. Rochelle also enjoyed the same things Sakina did and was a member of the youth choir at her church and even sang a few solo’s herself. She always had a passion for music but was a little timid but she found a way to slowly break out of her shell with a few helpful taps from her outspoken cogent friend (kina). The summer of 2004 the friends decided to become serious with following their dreams and started writing from different experiences and the way they felt. Wanting to find a way out of the lower middle class they reside in, they made music that talked about the things they wanted to attain in the near future. They started seeking help from anyone who had an open studio and found some help in an up coming rapper and producer Chris A.k.a sincere from New York who was starting his own company (4, 5, 6, media). After hearing them go at it for a minute he gave them a few pointers on how to improve and that they did. After a few years of hiding their talent but improving it in the dark they met another person Jeff the producer/song-writer/singer of Nu Face Records and he gave them a chance to get heard. First they needed names, initially the group was called the “Don Divaz” but with the many personnel’s calling themselves the same name they changed it to “Dilemma”. Sakina’s name she first called herself as an individual was Mz. Kina 2 sweet but soon realized that name didn’t say much about her creativity so she decided to call herself “Delux” another way of saying luxury or luxurious. Rochelle had her nick name attach to her music “Princess” but found it a little too common so she name herself “Jentri” meaning high class. Together their names meant where they want to live and how they want life to be. “High class luxury”. Now working hard to achieve the goals they have set out to accomplish they are ready to entertain the world and be the best in what they do.
